For my wedding, my four bridesmaids organized a book, centred around my relationship with Josh (my new hubbie). How we met, what they thought of him they first laid eyes on him (not all that great!), photos of our early days together (embarrassing). Also some hilarious comments from our parents – one from his “ex” that they were going to include – so glad they didn’t!) Then of course they threw in all the photos from hens night, and a few from Josh’s bucks – the ones that people were allowed to see! They did 30 copies – got a whole bunch of friends to chip in. It was best present. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!

My father died just when I was 26 – before I was really interested in who he was a person or what he’d achieved in his life. To get a better understanding of his life, I engaged Michael to interview six of his old friends – just to tell some stories and talk about who he was as a man. Michael then took that information and put it into story form – it was so well written – very readable. So now I’ve got this wonderful momento of his life – and something to share with my children – who of course never got to meet him. They’re not interested now, but I’m guessing at some point in their life, they will be.

Some mates presented me with a “This is your life – so far!” book for my 50th. They held a surprise party – 60 people, and got everyone to chip in. I don’t know whether I should be thanking them, or buying a gun and shooting them! There was a lot of embarrassing sh*t in there – photos and stories. At least my kids will understand that their mother and father weren’t always boring!
