There will be days when you sit at your computer for hours, bumbling around with single paragraphs. And regardless of how many different ways you pen your words, none of them illicit that response – “yep – that’s good”.
If you’re having one of those days, take a spell. Go for walk. A run. A swim. Pat the dog. Cook a meal. Just get away for a bit. And then resume. Don’t let dogged determination waste your hours.
Equally, when you think you’re on a roll, keep going. Regardless of the time of day or potential upcoming disruptions. Blow them off.
Those purple patches don’t come around all that often.
